About Exim
Exim is a mature, free message transfer agent (MTA) for Unix-like systems, originally developed at the University of Cambridge. It routes and delivers email with an unusually flexible configuration system, supporting extensive routing policies, content scanning and access control lists. Exim has long been the default MTA on Debian and is widely used by ISPs and universities. It suits mail administrators who need fine-grained control over how messages are accepted, filtered, routed and delivered at scale.
