Modern IRC server software for communities
RobustIRC
IRC without netsplits, a distributed IRC server
About RobustIRC
RobustIRC is a free, open-source IRC server designed to eliminate netsplits. Instead of fragile server links, its nodes form a distributed system using the Raft consensus algorithm and the RobustSession protocol, so clients stay connected and keep their session even when individual servers fail or the network partitions. Standard IRC clients connect through a bridge. RobustIRC is aimed at IRC operators and distributed-systems enthusiasts who want chat infrastructure that tolerates failures gracefully by design.
