Redis
Real-time in-memory data platform and cache
About Redis
Redis is an in-memory data platform best known as an extremely fast cache, but it also works as a primary database, message broker and streaming engine. Applications use it to cut database load, power leaderboards, session stores, rate limiting and real-time features where millisecond responses matter. Beyond simple key-value storage, it offers data structures such as lists, sets, hashes and sorted sets, plus modules for search and JSON. The open-source server is free to self-host, while Redis Cloud adds a managed option with a free starting tier and paid Essentials and Pro plans billed by usage.
