Authy is a two-factor authentication app from Twilio that generates time-based one-time codes for accounts you want to protect beyond a password. After enrolling a site by scanning its QR code, Authy produces rotating codes on your phone and can back them up in encrypted form, so losing a device does not lock you out of every account. It is aimed at everyday users securing email, banking, social and crypto accounts, and it supports multi-device use for people with several phones or tablets. The consumer app is completely free to download and use; note the desktop apps reached end of life in March 2024.
