About Perplexity Comet

Comet is Perplexity's AI browser, pitched on its official page as 'a personal AI assistant' for the web. The Perplexity assistant is built into the browser itself, summarizing pages and helping with chores like working through your inbox, comparing products, and planning travel as you browse — in Perplexity's words, browsing 'smarter, faster, and with less friction.' Launched in 2025 for Perplexity Max subscribers, Comet became available to everyone worldwide in October 2025 and is free to download; higher usage and advanced agentic features tie into Perplexity's paid tiers.
